About Us
The Bodock Post derives its name, in part,  from the prevalence of bodock trees
throughout Pontotoc and Pontotoc County, Mississippi.  A bodock tree is known by
many other names, such as Osage Orange and Hedge Apple.  If you'd like to read
more about the bodock tree we recommend
an article by Wayne Carter or
hedgeapple.com

Our name The Bodock Post was one of several considered, all of which contained
Bodock in the title.  New subscribers had a number of good suggestions, but we
liked the play on words of "fence posts" made of "bodock" wood and were inspired
by The Saturday Evening Post.

Due to expenses associated with printing and mailing, we've chosen to limit our
exposure to persons with Internet and email access.

Three strong writers form our group of editors, and while we feel we can produce
enough material among ourselves for a monthly publication, we welcome
submissions by seasoned and/ or aspiring writers.

We prefer articles of general interest relating to Pontotoc, or Northeast Mississippi,
but we will certainly consider all submissions.  If you are interested, please click
our "Contact Us" link at left.

Persons interested in receiving our free e-newsletter will be added to our email list
immediately upon receipt of notification via the Contact Us link, at left, or by
emailing us at
editor@bodockpost.com.

Be assured, we will not disclose or sell your email address to others.
